Last year we held 4 Kai Chi Do Weekend Retreats and every one of them was a mind-body-spirit-uplifting blast. Well, the calls have been coming in asking for another retreat and we love them as much as you do, so...
The dates of our next Kai Chi Do Weekend are Friday April 30 - Sunday May 2, 2010. We start the processes at 7pm on Friday night and finish the retreat at 5pm on Sunday. In between, you'll go through all the Elements of Kai Chi Do - from Root to Air to Fire to Water to Earth - including breathwork and breathwork in the hot tub (awesome!), Kai Chi Do every morning, a bunch of meditations and guided imagery, and a special surprise process we've added to this weekend - just to take it to the next level.
The Retreat will be held at Mansion House in St. Petersburg, which is a lovely venue, and Florida weather this time of year is in the delightful 80's.
So, if you're interested, in joining us for this fabulous process, just send us an email charles_and_susan@kaichido.com and we'll reply with all the details about registration.
If you know someone that you'd like to turn on to Kai Chi Do and the power of this work, pass this info along to them! We'd love to meet them!
Blessings!
And see you soon!
Charles recorded this meditation a few weeks ago, as part of our brief meditation series. The music is by Kevin MacLeod, who generously shares his work under a Creative Commons license. The song is Sovereign, on Kevin's album "Heartfelt Memories".

To enjoy Kai Chi Do (and that's the whole point, isn't it?) you have to do it at your own pace.
Give up those competitive drives for an hour and just listen to the wisdom of your body. When you listen to music you want the sound loud enough that you can hear it, but not so loud that it hurts your ears. It's the same with the movements of Kai Chi Do - Set your pace so that you can feel the tune of your body - the pump and pulse of energy - but not so intense that it's painful.
Here's a few tips for finding a pace that feels great to you:
Each Sunday morning, we provide a Kai Chi Do class at 9am. You can find more information and the location for our Sunday sessions on Meetup.com Lately, we've had Sundays at Shelter #3 in Anderson Park in Tarpon Springs, Florida and it's been beautiful. The weather is cool and Kai Chi Do heats us up just right. If you love Kai Chi Do, or just want to experience a great workout with a psychospiritual twist, come join us!
Here's a playlist dedicated to being an original you. Authentic, and good enough. Click the link to download individual songs or the entire album on iTunes:

A few weeks ago one of our new Kai Chi Do instructors-in-training asked us to recommend some pre-recorded meditations that they could include in Kai Chi Do sessions. We searched iTunes, looking for meditations that would be well suited to a Kai Chi Do session - We needed meditations that are 4-8 minutes in length, and launch without a bunch of preliminary lecturing. We also hoped to find pre-recorded meditations that had a little more juice than watching your breath or doing progressive muscle relaxation while you sit cross-legged on the floor. Well, we didn't find many that matched our Kai Chi Do needs. There was one from Ram Dass, one from Dr. Miles Neale, and a group of brief meditations called Soul of Healing Affirmations from Dr. Deepak Chopra.
So we decided to begin recording some brief meditations of our own. Here is our first:
